| “Wine is made in the vineyard” is a saying common to the wine country without the highest-quality grapes, even the best winemaker can not make a great wine. It is the job of the grape farmer to develop those grapes. But what exactly does happen in the vineyards to produce those prized grapes? The Wine Grape’s Journey provides us with the answer from the perspective of both man and the vine. All the events of the vineyard are revealed with a colorful, comprehensive look as they happen. Author and photographer Don Wallace spent two years in the vineyards and with farmers and vineyard workers, observing and recording their every action and the natural life-cycle of the vine. |
